Kristen and Jakub had a beautiful ceremony at the very modern La Cañada Presbyterian Church. The church had spectacular angular windows that flooded its halls with light, allowing us to capture some wonderful scenes with natural lighting. The reception venue contrasted nicely due to its an old-world charm. The reception took place at the Cicada Restaurant in downtown Los Angeles, where the Art Deco architecture really stood out in the cinematography. The romantically lit dining area did present a few obstacles in filming due to the dimmer candlelight, but we were able to utilize our super low light 50 mm 1.2 Canon luxury series prime lens to still get a magnificent image on screen. But what really left an impression on us was when Jakub charmed the crowd of guests with a couple of guitar songs that rocked the room! If that’s not romance, I don’t know what is.
